Shade of hope, relief and support

Mthunzi Foundation is an Non-Governmental Organization registered with registrar of societies at the Ministry of Community Development and Social services.

The organization is headquartered in Lusaka at lot # 30/35 Bauleni Lusaka.

Our objective is to be the source of hope, relief and support for vulnerable children and teenage mothers, offering skills, education, social emotional support and Christ centered approach to life.

What we’ve done so far

The Mthunzi Foundation is driven by a dedicated team of seven volunteers—including teachers, health professionals, and social service workers—who have committed themselves to educating young women and vulnerable children. Our mission is to uplift and empower teenage mothers by demonstrating the transformative power of education

OUR MISSION

Addressing educational challenges

Our mission is to address educational challenges affecting vulnerable children by providing educational support and creating a safe learning environment that foster peace, comfort, ambition and long-life skills, we aim to equip every teenage mother with skills and literacy to become entrepreneurs who support their families and contribute to the community development.

Community Engagements

Our professional coordinators work hand in hand with the communities in ensuring that the community and target group meets the desired objective of the Mthunzi Foundation.

Additionally, the coordinators civic leaders to ensure transparency.

Community Workers

The area faces high levels of teenage pregnancy and rapidly increasing poverty, which expose girls to daily hardships and limit their ability to pursue education and fight for their rights. Many are forced to prioritize survival and caring for their children over schooling. 

To address this, MF Foundation plans to establish a skills training center offering tailoring and catering courses, empowering girls with practical skills to become entrepreneurs, run sustainable businesses, and reduce poverty through economic independence.

Facilitators

Our facilitators work hand in hand with coordinators to ensure that the target audience is attended to.

Our facilitators are professionally trained teachers, psychosocial counsellor who are currently serving as volunteers to ensure the vision of Mthunzi Foundation is attained.

Chiefdoms

The Chiefs and other traditional leaders play a critical role in ensuring that each portion of the chiefdom is attended to, with the help of the Indunas and their subjetcs.

The Chiefs and their subjects have become a great collaborator with efforts to uplift the livelihood of their communities - mainly those from the Southern region of Zambia.

Ministry of Education

Mthunzi Foundation collaborates with various government schools in order to reach out to both teachers and learners.

Teachers provide detailed information on the current needs of the learners. The local schools often provide shelter for our regular meetings with the residents.
